Welcome to Grow and Glow

Grow and Glow Products essentially began in the late 70’s early 80’s when my Sister Tonnie and I grew up living in the countryside with our Parents. We had the unforgettable experience of growing up next door to our grandparents, Somers and Versie Sullivan. Both our parents and grandparents taught us how to respect, embrace and appreciate nature. Consequently, we were taught that God’s creation was superior to anything man made and was more effective. God’s creation was primary for life and medicine served as a substitute.


You name it, we were exposed to it: cows, horses, chickens and hogs that waddled in the mud while eating corncobs from our flourishing garden where fresh greens, purple hull peas, okra, peppers, and tomatoes (just to name a few veggies) grew. An orchard with fragrant varieties of peach, apple, and pear trees; and dense, overflowing sweet -smelling muscadine, honeysuckle and blackberry vines.


One thing that stood out to me, and forever defined how present natural remedies would be to my very existence was the Aloe Vera Plant! My grandmother kept at least 2 plants in the house that she utilized for burns, cuts, and even a skin moisturizer! She would make salves, kept a stockpile of mason jar remedies, and always added something “natural” to store -bought products! Believe it or not she was in her 60’s and she had not one stretch mark or a bit cellulite!


When My Sister and I began to take Cosmetology courses, we maintained our Holistic Approach to caring for others’ hair by never applying relaxers every six weeks like they taught us in school. Additionally, we routinely added olive oil and other extracts to our relaxers before they arrived on the shelves. In true fashion to follow in our grandmothers footsteps, an aloe vera plant was stationed in the salon and we used it to calm scalp irritations, stimulate hair growth, act as a conditioner, alleviate itching, and promote smooth and shiny hair. We’d snap it fresh from the plant and proceed with our remedies mixing it with natural oils, and essential oils.
Over the Years we concocted and collected recipes that eventually gave birth to Grow and Glow Products®.
